Me tomé el trabajo de leer el discurso de Trump hoy, criticado por populista y proteccionista y compararlo con el de Obama en el 2009, considerado una obra maestra de la retórica política. ¡El resultado te sorprenderá!

Trump dijo hoy:
Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for many, many years to come. We will face challenges. We will confront hardships. But we will get the job done.

Obama había dicho en 2009:
Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America: they will be met.

Trump dijo hoy:
For too long, a small group in our nation's capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have bore the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth.

Obama había dicho en 2009:
A nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our Gross Domestic Product, but on the reach of our prosperity.

Trump dijo hoy:
What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people. At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction that a nation exists to serve its citizens.

Obama había dicho en 2009:
The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works, whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.

Trump dijo hoy:
Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families and good jobs for themselves. But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists.

Obama había dicho en 2009:
Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many.

Trump dijo hoy:
From this day forward, it's going to be only America first, America first. Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs will be made to benefit American workers and American families. Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength.

Obama había dicho en 2009:
Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control.

Trump dijo hoy:
We will build new roads and highways and bridges and airports and tunnels and railways all across our wonderful nation.

Obama había dicho en 2009:
We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together.

Trump dijo hoy:
We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world, but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first. We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example. We will shine for everyone to follow. We will re-enforce old alliances and form new ones

Obama había dicho en 2009:
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Trump dijo hoy:
At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country we will rediscover our loyalty to each other. When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice.

Obama había dicho en 2009:
Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends, honesty and hard work, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism, these things are old.

Trump dijo hoy:
We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action, constantly complaining but never doing anything about it. The time for empty talk is over. Now arrives the hour of action.

Obama había dicho en 2009:
For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act.
